The Effect of Coffee on Mood and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Coffee and Seasonal Mood Disorder: We know that coffee has a positive effect on your mood. We had a lot of coffee and are very happy. That said, it's great that the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee has released a report that supports what you've known all along. A few cups of #coffee a day has been scientifically proven to help improve your mood during the dark months.

So what is SAD?

During the darker, colder months of the year, some people may suffer from low mood, an inability to enjoy normal, everyday things, and a lack of energy. This is Seasonal Affective Disorder, commonly known as #SAD.

Even if you don't suffer from SAD, darker days can cause low moods.

This study by ISIC showed that by drinking 75mg of caffeine every four hours (that's about a cup of coffee) you can get a measurable boost in your mood throughout the day.
